Introduction

Custom is not a size chart.

Ready-made clothing begins with a standard size. Custom stitching begins with the person wearing the outfit.

At Vastra Valli, every order is developed around the customer’s measurements, fabric, preferred design, occasion and comfort. The garment moves through a structured process involving consultation, pattern preparation, cutting, selected design work, stitching, trials, finishing and final quality inspection.

01

Your measurements

The garment is developed around your measurement profile, not adjusted from a standard size.

02

Your fabric is respected

Fabric quantity, grain, borders, motifs, fall and suitability are reviewed before cutting begins.

03

Fit is checked before completion

Eligible garments go through a trial so fit concerns can be identified and corrected before final finishing.

Services we offer

Multiple services. One coordinated process.

Most Vastra Valli services are available at all three branches. Painting is available only in Bengaluru, and alterations are limited to garments originally stitched and delivered by Vastra Valli.

How the process works

From consultation to collection.

You experience six major phases. Internally, an order may pass through up to fourteen workflow statuses, depending on the garment and the selected design work.

  1. 1

    Consultation and design

We review the fabric, occasion, preferred design, comfort requirements and expected timeline before confirming the order.

    At the counter
  2. 2

    Measurements and pattern making

Measurements and relevant notes are recorded to your profile, and a pattern is prepared for the garment and fit requirements.

    50+ measurements
  3. 3

    Cutting and design work

The fabric is checked and cut carefully. Aari work, computer embroidery, painting or other selected design work is completed where applicable.

    As selected
  4. 4

    Stitching and construction

The garment is assembled according to the confirmed measurements, pattern and design instructions.

    By garment
  5. 5

    Trial and fit refinement

You try the garment on, and required fit corrections are marked and completed before final finishing.

    Before finishing
  6. 6

    Finishing, inspection and packing

The garment is cleaned, pressed and reviewed against the confirmed order requirements before being packed for delivery.

Design and measurement consultation

The conversation that decides everything.

Every order begins with understanding the customer, the fabric and the occasion. Before cutting starts, our team discusses the design, fit, comfort, selected design work and a realistic delivery timeline.

What we cover
  • Occasion and expected use
  • Saree, lehenga or outfit styling
  • Neckline, sleeves and back design
  • Closure, lining and padding
  • Aari, embroidery or painting requirements
  • Comfort and movement
  • Fabric quantity and suitability
  • Trial and delivery expectations

Measurements

Measurements and relevant fit notes are recorded carefully to your customer profile. For future orders, the existing profile can be reviewed and updated where required — and measurements are always rechecked when there has been a body change, or when the garment style requires different fit information.

Trial and fit process

You wear it before we finish it.

A trial helps identify how the garment sits, moves and feels before final finishing. You may be asked to stand, sit, raise your arms or walk, so that practical fit concerns can be identified.

  1. Step 1

    First trial

The garment is prepared sufficiently for the fit to be evaluated before final completion.

  2. Step 2

    Marking

The fitter identifies and marks the required fit adjustments.

  3. Step 3

    Correction

The garment returns to the responsible production team for the approved corrections.

  4. Step 4

    Recheck or final trial

The corrected garment is checked again where required, before final finishing.

Standard garments generally require one trial. Bridal wear, complex garments and detailed handwork may require additional trials, depending on the design and fit requirements agreed in your order plan.

Alterations

Fit support for Vastra Valli orders.

Alterations and fit corrections are accepted only for garments originally stitched and delivered by Vastra Valli. Every request is assessed before acceptance, because some changes may not be technically safe or may affect the garment’s design.

Usually possible
  • Taking in or letting out where seam allowance permits
  • Hem and sleeve-length adjustments
  • Strap corrections
  • Hook, zip, lining or padding replacement
  • Minor neckline or back corrections
  • Re-fitting after measurement changes, within fabric limits
Often not possible
  • Garments with no remaining seam allowance
  • Major structural design changes
  • Heavy handwork areas that cannot be reopened safely
  • Fabrics that retain visible needle marks
  • Changes that would disturb the entire pattern
  • Damaged or significantly altered garments

The branch team will inspect the garment and explain what is realistically possible before accepting the alteration.

Fast-track stitching

When the date cannot move.

Fast-track stitching is available at all Vastra Valli branches for eligible garments, subject to current production capacity. Three service levels are offered: Prime (24-hour), Plus (48-hour) and Basic (72-hour).

Conditions that apply
  • 01The garment must be suitable for fast-track production
  • 02Fabric and required materials must be ready
  • 03Design complexity and handwork must allow the selected timeline
  • 04The branch must confirm production capacity
  • 05Trial availability must support the requested delivery
Important customer information

Please read this before placing an order.

Nothing here is fine print. These are the things that most often decide whether a delivery date holds.

Timelines begin after confirmation

Production timelines begin after the branch has received the fabric, completed the required measurements and confirmed the design instructions.

Fabric quantity matters

The team can guide you on the approximate fabric required. Insufficient fabric may restrict the selected design.

Design changes can affect delivery

Changes requested after production begins may affect the design, the timeline and the final cost.

Handwork density affects time

Detailed Aari work, embroidery and painting require additional time, depending on the selected coverage and complexity.

Trials must be completed on time

Missing or postponing a scheduled trial can delay final completion and delivery.

Alterations are limited to Vastra Valli orders

Alterations and fit corrections are accepted only for garments originally stitched and delivered by Vastra Valli.
