Our craftsmanship

Behind Every StitchIs a Thoughtful Process.

Every Vastra Valli garment moves through a structured journey — from design consultation and measurements to cutting, craftsmanship, stitching, trials, finishing and final quality inspection. Each stage is handled with clear instructions, careful workmanship and responsibility for the final result.

Coordinated under one process.

Design consultation, measurements, pattern making, cutting, Aari handwork, computer embroidery, stitching, fitting, finishing and quality inspection are coordinated through the Vastra Valli team and production process.

Keeping the work connected allows design instructions, measurements and corrections to move clearly from one stage to the next without losing important details. Every order is tracked according to its garment type, selected craftsmanship and confirmed delivery requirements.

“Every stage matters because every detail affects the final fit.”

The process

Twelve stages, in order.

Every garment follows the stages required for its design. Some craftsmanship stages may be skipped when they are not part of the selected order, but the essential order of production remains controlled.

  1. Design Consultation
    01

    Design Consultation

Every order begins with a conversation about the fabric, occasion, preferred design, comfort requirements and expected timeline. Reference images may be reviewed, but the final design is adapted to the customer’s fabric, measurements and garment construction.

  2. Measurement Taking
    02

    Measurement Taking

More than 50 measurements and fit-related details may be recorded, depending on the garment and the customer profile. Existing measurements are reviewed and updated whenever necessary.

  3. Pattern Making
    03

    Pattern Making

A garment pattern is developed according to the customer’s measurements, selected design and fit requirements. The pattern is the foundation for accurate cutting and construction.

  4. Precision Cutting
    04

    Precision Cutting

The fabric is reviewed before cutting. Grain, border, motifs, fabric direction, available quantity and design placement are all considered before the garment pieces are cut.

  5. Aari Handwork
    05

    Aari Handwork

Where selected, the garment panel moves to the Aari team. Motifs, placement, thread, beads, stones, zari, sequins and work density are completed according to the confirmed design instructions. Available at all branches.

  6. Computer Embroidery
    06

    Computer Embroidery

Digitised embroidery is used for customised motifs, borders, repeated patterns and decorative detailing. Thread selection, size and placement are confirmed against the garment design. Available at all branches.

  7. Painting and Additional Design Work
    07

    Painting and Additional Design Work

Fabric or garment painting is completed according to the selected design and the suitability of the fabric. Available exclusively at the Bengaluru branch. Where painting is not selected, this stage is skipped.

  8. Garment Stitching
    08

    Garment Stitching

The garment is assembled according to the confirmed pattern, measurements, construction instructions and selected design. The responsible production team follows the order details and reports any concern before continuing.

  9. Trial and Fit Refinement
    09

    Trial and Fit Refinement

The customer wears the garment so the fitter can review how it sits, moves and feels. Required corrections are marked, completed and rechecked before final finishing.

  10. Finishing and Ironing
    10

    Finishing and Ironing

Loose threads and temporary markings are removed. Closures, hooks, edges, lining and finishing details are reviewed before the garment is pressed at a suitable temperature.

  11. Quality Inspection
    11

    Quality Inspection

The garment is inspected against the confirmed order requirements — garment type, measurements and fit, design details, stitching quality, handwork, closures and lining, cleanliness, finishing, trial corrections and special instructions. It is accepted, sent for rework, or held back from packing until the issue is corrected.

  12. Packing and Delivery
    12

    Packing and Delivery

After passing the final inspection, the garment is pressed, folded, protected and packed for delivery. The branch confirms completion and provides any necessary garment-care guidance.
